Prayer for Walking the Labyrinth
|
“We stand now in anticipation, asking the Great Mystery to bless each one of us, and to fill the pathways of this labyrinth with numinous energy for all who walk this sacred path. May all who walk this labyrinth be centered and grounded, have peace and happiness, be healed according to their needs, and have their hearts filled with unconditional love. We humbly ask the Ancestors and earth spirits of this beautiful place that our experiences reflect our interexistence with Earth Community.”

Thich Nhat Hanh Upon entering the labyrinth, we sense that it is a symbol representing the whole. Our world of splits and divisions disappears for a few contented minutes. The seeker enters a nondualistic world, where clear thinking through the channel of intuition has a chance to emerge from deep within. Lauren Artress “Walking a Sacred Path” Walking the labyrinth, I came to see the universal pattern that lay within me, within life itself – the labyrinth being a metaphor for life. Always turning, facing new directions, yet I was never completely able to stray from the path……Meandering and twisting to and fro, no one can be sure exactly where they are in the labyrinth, how far from the center, how far from the end; just as in life, one thing is certain: You go out exactly the same way you came in. Michelle Naomi Baer Your path is your own, but you must walk side by side with others, with compassion and generosity as your beacons. If anything is required it is this: fearlessness in your examination of life and death; willingness to continually grow; and openness to the possibility that the ordinary is extraordinary, and that your joys and your sorrows have meaning and mystery. Elizabeth Lesser “A New American Spirituality” The importance of the labyrinth is that no matter where we are on our life’s journey, no matter what tradition sparks the creative imagination, we may glimpse the Divine. Lauren Artress “Walking a Sacred Path” Walking Blessing That each step may be a shedding. That you will let yourself become lost. That when it looks like you're going backwards you may be making progress. That progress is not the goal anyway, but presence to the feel of the path on your feet to the way it reshapes you in each place it makes contact, to the way you cannot see it until the moment you have stepped out. Jan Richardson "In Wisdom's Path" Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there is in silence. Desiderata The labyrinth holds up a mirror, reflecting back to us not only the light of our finest selves but also whatever refrains us from shining forth. Melissa Gayle West The labyrinth guides us through the troubles of our lives to the grand mysterious patterns that shape the web of creation. It leads us toward the Source and eventually guides us home. Lauren Artress “Walking a Sacred Path” LABYRINTH LINKS
